Dr. Meron Medzini will share recorded lectures followed by a Q and A session.

Dr. Medzini served as Director of the Israel Government Press Office for Prime Ministers Levi Eshkol, Golda Meir and Yizhak Rabin, he is an Associate Fellow at the Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace and a noted author.

Guest Scholar: Dr. Michael Marmur, Provost of Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion.

Dr. Marmur, a scholar of Abraham herschel who was monumental Jewish theologian and activist of the 20th century, sheds new light on Heschel’s life and work. We are honored to have Dr. Marmur with us.

  • 12:30pm:  Sandwich Lunch
  • 1:30pm:   Moral Grandeur and Activitism
  • 7:30pm:  (Havdalah) – Israel: Intersection of Jewish Tradition and Modern Israeli Culture. Dessert to follow.

Everyone in our community is invited and encouraged to participate in one or all sessions during this special event weekend. Take this unique opportunity to study with and meet Dr. Marmur. The study of Heschel is a nice follow-on to our earlier education series on Martin Buber (Buber and Heschel were contemporaries, Heschel serving as head of adult Jewish education in Germany at the Lehrhaus after Bubel).
